It as a known fact that millions of children in Nigeria are out of school because of financial incapability’s despite the fact that education has been made free. While public secondary education in Nigeria is free, there are still fees that impact students. These include transportation, books, uniforms and examination fees. Due to these additional costs, so many students find attending school extremely difficult and either do not enroll in secondary school or drop out.
Let us reform our schools and add value to education, then we shall find little need of reform in our prisons
It is also a serious ball game when it also comes to the tertiary institutions, so many students who could narrowly scale through primary, secondary education, would eventually face the tough wall of the university education, because it has a wider scope of expenses.
This is why the FKG Foundation has decided to awards scholarships to high performing students from each adopted school to ease their educational process through nursery, primary, secondary and tertiary education.
This program covers tuition and other expenses which include transportation, study materials and uniform and even external examinations.
The programme is set to support children who have excelled in their academics to transit to Secondary School and also to tertiary, whilst building a culture of excellence among children in FKG Foundation adopted schools, and we are glad that we are able to add to the joy and success stories of this children.
